Hip Hop music began in New York City in the late 70’s initially by African American kids. Over the years Hip Hop has became one of the largest parts of the music industry with some stars earning hundreds of millions of pounds every year thanks to a grown demand by a diverse audience.

Hip Hop music usually involves a DJ using turntables to mix records and scratch records to create a unique sound. The idea of scratching records might sound obscure but with the right skills and talent it can create some very special music.

Hip Hop music is famous for gang violence and a number of key musicians and producers have been shot dead by drive by shootings. The main stream music labels have always tried to separate themselves from violence but it does seem that trouble follows them.
